“Fine murals and artwork in the Southern California area. Eye for details and realism are my specialties.”

“Rik is a talented artist who paints extraordinary murals with a passion. He spends the time to help you figure out what you want and what would be best for your home. He helped us transform a “problem” room into a serene and beautiful escape. He did a stunning job on our Tuscan-style dining room, using colors that warmed the room, and adding his personal touch to the ceiling and archway. He is professional, on time, on budget, and unobtrusive. I will definitely hire him again. Working with Rik is a pleasure, and his artwork is a great investment.” Nicole Heinmetz

To Whom It May Concern;
Rik has done 2 murals for the Ramona H.E.A.R.T. Mural Project. We currently have 13 murals, Rick having done the last two. His work is amazing, the community has commented positively on them – we hope to have him do more! He is professional, researches carefully the community of Ramona and the suggested topic of the mural. He always honors his deadlines, and our installer even commented that he’s the first of our muralists who also knew how to handle a drill motor!

The Board of Directors would heartily recommend Rik for mural projects in any community.

A Licensed Professional Muralist

Providing custom, professional artwork, decorative painting and design in San Diego and the Southern California area for over 35 years. In other words, Art is my passion! A good artist will have complete knowledge of all aspects of wall mural work. In addition, designing a first-class piece of art should “Pop” and add outstanding “Wow” factor to any room or environment.

The first step is to contact me below for your work. After that we will brainstorm ideas and options to find the best artwork for your walls. From there we will come up with sketches to crystalize the concepts. After those thumbnails are drawn, we will begin prepping the areas and START PAINTING THE WALLS!

Wall murals have been found on prehistoric cave walls that transformed a space into a place of wonder and magic. Many ancient murals have been found within ancient Egyptian tombs (3150 BC) and in Juxtlahuacan Cave in Mexico (1,200 BC).

There are many words to describe types of murals:

Tuscany or Italian, modern, contemporary, abstract, realistic, landscapes, portraits, colorful, bold, soft. In addition, Trompe L’oeil, trick the eye, graffiti, ocean, sky, beach, tropical and this is only a partial list. I specialize in REALISTIC and TROMPE L’OEIL (Trick-The-Eye) murals although I’ve been called on to paint abstracts and others as well. Also, there are specialized FAUX techniques used such as Italian Plaster, Venetian Plaster, Color Glazing, etc.

Murals can be painted on:

Walls in Nurseries, Man Caves, Kitchens, Bedrooms, Living Rooms, Boardrooms, Lunch Rooms, Factory Walls and much more. Business logo murals also look great freshly painted onto wall entry areas. Hand Painted wall signs, mission statements, wall graphics, distressed bar signs are also in vogue.
