This mural, painted for the City of Ramona, is of five hikers on top of the Mt. Woodson with the famous “Potato Chip Rock” on top. It is located at the Ramona Fitness Center at 558 Main Street, Ramona, CA 92065. The owner of the center wanted to have his family painted into the mural and so I obliged.
The size is 15 feet X 70 feet. Hikers from all over the world travel to hike this mountain. It is known for it’s incredible views and mammoth sized boulders that line the trails from top to bottom. Many hikers make it a goal to reach “Potato Chip Rock,” a thin outcrop that looks like a thin potato chip appearing to be ready to snap off at any moment. Depicted in
the mural below Mt. Woodson and after talking with grape growers in the area, I painted in a vision of a likely panorama of far-reaching vineyards that everyone foresees in the fast-growing wine-making industry in
the Ramona valley.
